Determined to locate accommodation in the heart of Kiev, with a quiet inside court and a good city view, 6 years ago Igor purchased a 3-space lodging in a recent improvement.
Getting an architect by profession, Igor planned the layout and interior style of his lodging on his own. The idea of making an open space with minimum of partitions needed partial layout changes: the kitchen was added to the living space, the balcony – to the bedroom. The third space, which was planned to be provided more than to a study, was in the end designed as a residence studio.
Except for a dining group, the whole furniture was ordered from craftsmen cooperating with Igor in his job. Elements of décor are Italian lamps, travel souvenirs and author’s functions of the host.
Loft aesthetics in the lounge interior is set up by the kitchen imitating concrete slabs and brick masonry on the walls. The floor is laid with nutwood parquetry.
A nook-window overlooking the city centre is edged with curtains of Italian flax. Fabric, the length of which was in the finish sufficient for generating a bedspread and Roman blinds, was ordered from acquainted textilemen. Lamp — Aura of AxoLight brand.
A sofa is a copy of Charlie model by B&B, Italy. Minimalist lamps on every side of the sofa — TRE. A padded stool was brought from Morocco. A photo on the wall is the host’s work.
Japanese and Belarusian opera glasses are a friend’s present. A “Buddha Hand” sculpture arrived from Thailand.
Dining group — SoftLine. The easel features one of the latest works by Igor “Feet – Australia (Beware of Sharks)”.
The cooking zone is faced with concrete-style tiling. The very same finishing material was employed for the entrance hall floor. The built-in refrigerator was put into a white cabinet.
The complete tiling and sanitary porcelain was bought in “Agromat”.
According to the original plan of the lodging, the bedroom had a balcony exit. Given that it consumed a massive deal of daylight and was also narrow for full-fledged use, the hosts decided to connect it with the living space. Right here the flooring was produced of ash, which is lighter than in the rest of the rooms. A bed along with bedside tables was custom-created from Igor’s drawings. A DVD-player stand was made of single walnut trunk: versatile components are picked up so that the composition could be easily assembled and dismantled.
A small area serves as a study and a property studio in equal measure. Also a balcony and a boxroom are positioned right here. A broad table prime of veneered MDF plates and a sofa had been ordered from acquainted masters. The floor is covered with a jute carpet from India. Some of the photos have been painted by the hosts the other folks have been brought from travels.
Clay wine bottles purchased in Tbilisi serve as candlesticks.
A set of vinyl records belongs to Igor’s daughter.
A single a lot more host’s image adorns the entrance hall.
