Caterpillar House is a minimalist house positioned in Lo Barnechea, Chile, developed by Sebastián Irarrázaval. This residence is a prefabricated property for an art collector constructed in the outskirts of Santiago. In order to reduce building time and price, second-hand shipping containers have been employed as a structural hold for most of the buildings foundation. The property also requires advantage of the spectacular views of the Andes mountains. A single of the needs was to allow external air to run freely throughout the residence in order to steer clear of mechanical cooling.
